State JCL
There are two different types of student boards for each state: the local board and the state board. Each school with a JCL chapter has a local board which plans classics-related service projects and fun events for their school.
On a larger level is the state board, which represents all of the local chapters in the state and plans a variety of events that all the local chapters can participate in. The most popular of these events is the state convention, which is a two-day long event complete with Latin jeopardy competitions (certamen), creative arts submissions, athletic games (ludi), spirit competitions, service projects, academic testing, and more. The MNJCL currently has only one JCL chapter; because of this, we partner with the North Dakota JCL at state convention. It is our hope that with your help, we can help spread the JCL to schools all across Minnesota!
